My old blogs have been messy and out of focused. I took blogging as a hobby and some of my posts were too personal making it difficult for me to brand my blog and myself as a blogger. I also find the platform kind of difficult for me to handle and edit since I’m not that techy. Lastly, I don’t have that much followers so I don’t think I’m wasting too much. I didn’t close it down but I’m no longer updating it.
The one I have now is much cleaner than it was. I mean, I’m still creating nail art designs since it’s my creative outlet, review products I purchased, react to books I’ve read and write my random thoughts but now it’s categorized physically on my blog for easier navigation. I also adjusted my writing style to fit the brand I chose and somehow, I was able to put up a hybrid of a personal and lifestyle blog in a professional manner.
For the upcoming year, my next stop is marketing and monetization. I’ve been approved by Google AdSense 5 years ago even on YouTube; however, I wasn’t able to maximize it since I wasn’t posting consistently. I’m also considering ad placements and guest postings. I’m still figuring things out but I don’t think of this as another hobby anymore. I want to be able to reach readers who would appreciate what I have to offer and hear opinions to improve myself as a mini painter and a writer.
So, why do you blog?
