Due to typhoon Goryo, the comprehensive examination of UPDEPO and Clark have been postoponed to August 5. I have mix emotions when I heard the news. We're not really in the center of the typhoon but it has been raining non stop .
At some point we were expecting it because classes and even work in Olongapo and SBMA have been suspended since Wednesday because of heavy rainfall and flooding on low lying areas and even the main road. The water subsides when the rain stops and back again when it pours. Families and establishement owners are also on the watch ready to pack and move out or move up if the watee enters their home. This is what you do if you live in the city.
Me and my family lives on a high place. I live in the mountain near the high way. We don't worry about flooding although water get's in our kitchen because of the water tank that's poorly connected to it.
Anyways, we worry more of tall trees that may fall on our houses. There's a Talisay tree by the street planted by our neighbor years ago and someone's been burning dry leaves beside it. Now, it's base is burned and have a chance of falling and blocking the street. We reported the matter to the city who directed us to the barangay. We were able to secure an authorization from DENR as they instructed but when we go back to the barangay they just said there's nothing they can do because they don't have any equipment for it. It costs P8,000 to hire someone to cut it even just trim it which we can not afford. Good thing is, there's a good samaritan who volunteered in trimming it little by little.
Now, the rain has stopped and a little sunshine is peeking through my window. I'm glad that I have another week to review.
I know my thoughts are inconsistent. Believe me, I myself don't know what to think anymore. I know I need to study but sometimes I just want to mop the kitchen or watch the tree be blown by the wind.
