The Manifesto on How to be Interesting by Holly Bourne

I was just browsing by the bookstore when I found the last copy of this book on the top shelf. The reason, the book cover and title is catchy... Yes I know it seemed pretty shallow but that shallow judgment turned out satisfying.
The book is about a troubled teenager's intriguing quest to be "interesting" in order to write a novel that people will be "interested" to read just so she could have a book published and leave that as her mark.

As per her bestfriend's advice, she decided to start a blog where she published every detail of her journey to become one of the perfect posse from her makeover to her illicit relationship with her english teacher. The thing is, she's done so much mischief that everything went out of hand and her double life just blew right to her face.

It's like Mean Girls and Jawbreaker (without the killing part). I hate how the protagonist appeared to be intelligent at first but decided to use it and level up the risk by doing something stupid for the sake of getting noticed. Well she did get the attention of everyone including the publishing house but at the expense of what? Her quiet life and everyone else in it. And then what? Cut yourself and die? Like it's that easy... Seriously, this is effectively annoying which, for me, makes it worth reading.
You decide whether you like the plot or not but if you ask me, this is definitely a must read if you feel like you're stuck in a collection of your preferred novel genre.
This post isn't suppose to be a book review because reviews are more in depth. This is more like a book reaction which I'm not really great with but I hope doing more of this would help improve my writing skills in preparation for my comprehensive exam.
Please leave your comment below and I'd appreciate if you leave me an advice to make my book reactions an A+.

I think you have a pretty direct summery. Few pointers (you asked) I would include is the main characters name in you first sentence about the book. Also the word "interested" twice is to much- I know it's the title of the book, but its just funny on the eyes to read. I'd change the first to fascinating (or another synonym) and keep the quoted interested.
I love the rest!

I laughed when you compared it to mean girls and jawbreakers without the killing. Sounds like a different, keep me focused read.

Sounds like an interesting book... I've never read a book before where the whole point of the story was that the main character wanted to be in a book. Interesting twist.

Your reaction to that book definitely makes me want to look into reading it. It sounds like a catchy, yet annoying, book that would hold your attention whether you like it or not ha ha!
