Natural makeup with bold lips is the easiest go to look for any woman but it could get boring. Then again, if you have a little extra time and an event to go to, throwing in a little colorful metallic to the mix could transition your look to full glam,
What: Metallics by Detail Makeover
Where to buy: Watsons, Department Stores and Beatymnl.com Price: Php745.00 What's with the splurge?
On my recent review on BYS Berries 2 Eyeshadow Palette, I did mention that I got bored with my "no makeup" look so I'm now in the middle of experimenting different makeup looks and styles. The Berries 2 eyeshadow palette did come with metallics but the colors available stick to its theme. So I went ahead and purchase this palette to add a little color in my only palette.
What do I like a bout the product?
2. The color payoff.
I was suppose to buy the autumn palette because it seems more wearable but i had the same issue with the Berries 2. The color range is limited. I wasn't really suppose to get this but it was rare for me to find a metallic palette that has a good color pay off as this. Also, some palettes I've tried before are only metallics in the surface but not this one. Simply put, I fell in love with it in my first swatch.
3. It's not powdery and not flaky.
I did get a little glitter fall out but its not so much that it would bother me. It was actually creamy, kind of oily, when I touched it. In spite of that, it didn't crease on my lids maybe because I used a primer before applying it. What's not to like?
1. It's a splurge.
Although you would get 21 eyeshadow pans for Php745.00, the palette is fully metallic. This is definitely a splurge for someone who don't need a full glam makeup at all times. Personally, I know I wont be reaching for it everyday.
2. It may be difficult to apply.
Just so you know, I'm not a pro. Maybe that's why I find it more difficult to manage. I tried a dry brush, didn't work. A wet brush, still didn't work. Finally, I tried the sponge and my little finger, works best for me.
3. I cannot say it's completely cruelty free
The back of the package does show the bunny logo but the fact that this is from China makes me doubtful. As we all know, China is still requiring animal testing. My final thoughts,
The palette is definitely worth the price.
If you're someone who does makeup for a living, this will be a great addition to your collection because of its formula and the variety of colors. But like I said, a purely metallic palette is not something an ordinary woman would reach for everyday so if you are concern, the cost per wear can be expensive. -Aisiah Ezekyel
