I wasn't into liquid makeup until I found Maybelline's Dream Satin Liquid Foundation. It is one of BeautyMNL's Best 40 Reviewed Products so I just had to try if it'll change my mind about using liquid foundation on a daily basis.
Air Whipped Liquid Foundation
Our unique air - soft formula provides poreless, satin - smooth looking skin. Extraordinary coverage that does not clog pores. Long lasting and moisturizing all day.
I have combination skin and typically, liquid foundations would worsen the appearance of my oily T-zone and make my under eye wrinkles and pores too obvious. Reading the label, this could be just what I need.
Consistency, application and blending:
The foundation is a bit thick than what I'm used to so I expected a medium to heavy coverage. Then again, I was only able to get light to medium after two pumps.
It's light weight. I barely notice I still have makeup on until it mixes with my sweat which rarely happens beacuse I mostly stay in the office.
Application and blending was smooth wheather with a brush, damp sponge, or my fingers which I personally prefer.
As to finish, normally my skin would look oily by mid day but with Maybeline Dream Satin Foundation, I'm receiving compliments that my skin radiates a healthy glow at 5:00pm and this is not an exageration. They're even asking what moisturizer I'm using.
Testing with the weather:
I work in an airconditioned office for 12 hours so my normal problem will be having dry patches but this is moisturizing enough to prevent it.
However, when I went out for lunch, it was so hot my face and neck felt sticky but when I check in the mirror, I don't look greasy at all. My face is a bit shiny but it's as if it shines in the right places. I can also just blot with a tissue to ease that feeling.
Does it or does it not clog pores?
It does. I had my facial before starting to use the product and sadly, only two weeks later, my nose is covered with blackheads.
I'm satisified with its overall performance. Aside from the fact that it clogs my pores like any other foundation, the thing that only worries me is the glass container. I know it's a thick one but no glass is unbreakable with someone as clumsy as I am.
