Churches to Visit in Baguio

It's been 5 years since I've been to Baguio for work and about 15 to 16 years since I visited some of the places on this list. I'm not the most spiritual person as my family and friends know but churches and temples are a must visit for people searching for peace of mind.

1. Baguio Cathedral

It's located at the top end of Session Road and I used to walk pass by it going to SM for grocery shopping but I don't come here often for a mass. The only thing I remember coming here was praying to pass the entrance exam for SLU, the CPA board exam and praying for happiness. I came here once 5 years ago with the students I'm accompanying for a tour, but I don't remember much about it other than the bad weather.

2. Bell Church

I was still in second year high school when I visited Bell Church for the first time. I lived in Baguio for a year and came back to the city several times but I never visited once because it's location is far from the city proper. It's located in La Trinidad and you can take the jeepney by Rizal Park at the other end of Burnham Park to come here. It's easily recognizable because of the temple's roof located high up the mountain and the entrance too. It's a nice place to just sit and reflect although I'm not Taoist.

3. The Pink Sister's Convent

I think every daughter who grew up by the mountain wished to be a nun at some point in their childhood and I'm no exception.  Mostly because of the fact that people cannot disturb them and the pink and white clothing. Anyway, the last time I visited, I remember making a long list of my wishes for the sisters to pray on my behalf. Years later, the only wish from that list I remember came true. I'm a CPA now and this is the first time in 10 years I'm visiting this place to thank them and God via the same letter of petition.

I would've wanted to visit the Grotto with 230+ stairs but since I only have a day and a half to roam around, i wasn't able to. Maybe next time then.

I have been to Baguio but I haven't visited all of this. I guess I have more reasons to go back.

I'm also not a very religious person, but quite spiritual. I do love seeing the different churches and temples of the world though. They are usually quite mesmerizing!
