Due to typhoon Goryo, the comprehensive examination of UPDEPO and Clark have been postoponed to August 5. I have mix emotions when I heard the news. We're not really in the center of the typhoon but it has been raining non stop .
At some point we were expecting it because classes and even work in Olongapo and SBMA have been suspended since Wednesday because of heavy rainfall and flooding on low lying areas and even the main road. The water subsides when the rain stops and back again when it pours. Families and establishement owners are also on the watch ready to pack and move out or move up if the watee enters their home. This is what you do if you live in the city.
If there's anything I'm grateful for this month in my beauty finds, it'll be discovering Bioré Cleansing Oil. I've been having trouble with my skin recently so I decided to change my routine for combination skin and my search has suggested the use of cleansing oils. However, I'm on a budget and the most affordable oil based cleanser I could find is Bioré's.
What: Bioré Cleansing Oil

o answer the essay, we need to solve the problem first because that will be the basis of our opinion. I didn't have difficulty solving for the problems but the essays were the worst. Well, everybody's got their own weaknesses and essay writing happens to be mine. It took me more time to organize and finalize my thoughts than actually solving it.
I had a lot for lunch but I didn't appreciate how it tasted. It's like my plate was suddenly empty and I don't know where the food went.
In the afternoon, we had Marketing Management. Up until the exam, I was confident because I finished studying it. Before the exam was distributed, the proctor mentioned that there were only four questions. So I asked how many pages? I was hoping it was a company case analysis hence the number of questions, but NO. It was mostly identification and one very short case analysis that only focused on pricing model. I studied twenty-two chapters but the first question is not on the reference text and the other is close to becoming a footnote which I didn't bother memorizing. Yeah, that part I really regret.
We all felt hungry after the exam and decided to eat before going home. Me and my friends ended the day with pasta, coffee, cake and a lot of chatting and drama.
We still have two more subjects left to take this Saturday and I'm hoping I could do better to make up for my loss in Marketing. I'll update soon.
Hello my lovely readers. I have recently joined a 100 day blogging challenge on a facebook group I'm a member of. It was difficult to cope up at the moment since I have to work and prepare for the upcoming exam but I wanted to share two videos I found online.am but I wanted to share two videos I found online.
Part of the challenge is to do a vlog which, as of the moment, I'm not sure if I'm brave enough to do but I wanna try anyway. I make youtube videos for nail art but the set-up I have is so simple and I only use a lamp for lighting so when I tried filming a vlog, it didn't turn out good. Mostly because it was dark. I moved my table by the window for natural lighting but I typically work 12 hours a day so the sun will be gone by the time I get home to film.
I searched for filming set-ups but most of what came out where the glamorous and expensive ones by already popular youtubers. These two I came accross by chance and thought it deserve more views than it get so I'm writing this post to share them.
The last time we visited Quiapo Church, we went to Wellmanson and that's were I found this paddle makeup brush set. I already took it out of the box since it's generic and most of the times Quiapo and Divisoria brushes have the similar quality anyway. The set includes five brushes, an egg shape sponge and a brush cleaner.
What: Paddle Makeup Brush Set
Where to buy: Wellmanson, Quiapo, Manila
I've been so curious about these paddle brushes since it first came out and it is easy to find at the mall but I cannot afford to pay a thousand or more for a single brush. Not even three hundred per piece for something that may be similar in quality with those from Quiapo or Divisoria.
The trip took about 4 hours from Olongapo through SCTEx and TPLEx. We paid toll fees from Olongapo as follows (one way):
(SCTEx) Tipo Entrance: P22
From (SCTEx) Tipo to TPLEx Entrance: P294
To TPLEx Exit: P235

I mentioned in my previous post how I encountered an article from an old magazine while cleaning my room. Well I'm an accountant. It's normal for me to compute automatically when I see numbers. That's what triggered me to get a reality check on my financial status. I hope this post would do the same to you.
On the same night, I sat in my room and stared at my bank book and mull over my finances and spending habits. Here's how you can too.
1. List all source of income and how much you earn from it.
Right now, I have a single source and that's my full time job which basically earns me the same every payday. Now if you're working several part time jobs that have varying income, get the average and don't over estimate.
I suggest getting the middle of your lowest income and most consintent highest income from that part time job.
as my copy of grades and certification from school that I'm finishing my masters degree. I also brought my original certificates because they're checking the authenticity of the CPD units I've actually earned.
You must be thinking why do you need to know how to make nail art stickers when you can simply get it from the mall or, for more design choices, buy it online. Bornprettystore has quite a collection for only a few cents. Then again, there may be times that you want a particular design but can't find it anywhere or the alternative may take a month to arrive. So why bother waiting and spending when you can just create exactly what you want with what you already have.
All you need for this project is a base to create your design and nail polishes of your choice. For more flexibility, you can also use acrylic to paint your nail art stickers with.
For the base, I'm using the back of Oh My Girl's nail stamp. If you don't have one, you may use a sandwich bag, too. Then you can layer on your nail polish from there.
Here's how to do it.
I've been consistently cutting my nail off with a knife while preparing meals, literally. The last time it took me three weeks to grow it back to normal size only to cut it again accidentally. So I decided to purchase this practice set from bornprettystore.com. Now I don't have to stop doing nail art even without my real nails.
I bought these 600 pcs of false nail tips for $4.57 and two display fingers, to attach the nail to, for $1.99.
To be honest, only a few numbers fit my nails but you can trim the sides easily with a nipper for the bigger ones. I like it just fine for practice but it's a little thick not to be noticed if you plan on wearing it.
Who doesn't want be free from living paycheck to paycheck? Here are a few steps I've taken to get a good start on my way to financial freedom
1. Get a reality check and figure out where you're at.
Where else will you start? It's important to know exactly where your finances stand and how much more losses can you tolerate before you sink in debt and never be able to get up. Getting a better picture of your financial status will guide you in establishing your goals and achieve financial freedom.
On my previous post, Going Through Lifestyle Inflation, I mentioned that I have a negative net worth but looking into it closely, I still have a few bucks in my name. It can't wipe off my long term debt, of course, but I can use it to pay for the current ones without touching the money I'm saving for my operation.
Basically, I'm broke but people wont notice; not even the merchants I owe to. That's a good start.
If you're up for some Korean food and good coversation with your friends I would suggest you to visit Dongane. It's located near the old Park n Shop.
What: Dongane Korean Restaurant
Where: SBMA near old Park n Shop
Price range: P250+ per head
After entering the first gate to SBMA, just walk straight ahead. You would want to turn left before the first Ministop (not the one on the other side of the street) and pass through the old Park n Shop to DBP's block. Turn to your left from there and you'll find it.
We stayed at Dongae for almost two hours just bonding over samgyeopsal and talking about what we we're upto the past year and a few plans ahead.
The rest of the conversation were pretty casual and sometimes nonsense but I guess that's what talking with old friends should be like. Random, nonsensical and nothing in common but fun.
Here's a link to my post about my experience with Dongae. Don't hesitate to visit while you're here in Olongapo.
Well, of course that's not how I imagined my getaway will be but you get the gist.
Lifestyle inflation happens when your increase in income is followed by increase in expenses. Others write articles on how to avoid it but in my opinion, it's inevitable. Changes in work and family conditions will cause it to inflate in a way, like buying a family car or moving to a bigger house. Besides don't we all work hard to elevate our standard of living?
After college, I landed my first job as a purchasing staff in a manufacturing company and believe it or not, I only earn between P6,000 - P10,000 a month including overtime. Now I'm earning roughly three times more than that but I have no investment and P20,000 behind my targeted personal savings plus a personal loan.
So where does my money go? How was I able to manage living with only that much in the past?
I chelked my credit card billings, some receipts and here's what I found.
The thing I love about Bobbie Nail Creme is its variety of unique finishes. Their latest, Supah - GEL Collection, promises to "give your mani a voluminous, gel-lific finish" and "long - lasting gleam of a salon gel manicure sans UV light".
What: Bobbie Nail Creme Supah - GEL Collection
Where to buy: Watsons (Exclusive)
Price: P79.75 each
In an article, I read that an average cosmo girl earns P20,000 monthly gross. Thinking about it, I earn way more than that net of all deductions in a small city at the north side of the country without a heavy financial responsibility for over five years. On the same day, I checked my bank balance and realized I'm actually twenty grand short for that minimum amount of personal savings plus I have a loan I made out for the house renovation. Technically, my net worth is negative.
Crumptes Nail Art has an ongoing challenge due every two weeks. This was my entry for the pink, lilac and gold color concept last May 26. It's ordinay so it'll be easy to do on both hands.
