The Office | UP Compre Day 2 Postponed and Typhoon Goryo

7/29/2017

Due to typhoon Goryo, the comprehensive examination of UPDEPO and Clark have been postoponed to August 5. I have mix emotions when I heard the news. We're not really in the center of the typhoon but it has been raining non stop .

At some point we were expecting it because classes and even work in Olongapo and SBMA have been suspended since Wednesday because of heavy rainfall and flooding on low lying areas and even the main road. The water subsides when the rain stops and back again when it pours. Families and establishement owners are also on the watch ready to pack and move out or move up if the watee enters their home. This is what you do if you live in the city.

If there's anything I'm grateful for this month in my beauty finds, it'll be discovering Bioré Cleansing Oil. I've been having trouble with my skin recently so I decided to change my routine for combination skin and my search has suggested the use of cleansing oils. However, I'm on a budget and the most affordable oil based cleanser I could find is Bioré's.

The Office | UP Compre Exam Day 1

7/24/2017

The UP Compre Exam was held last Saturday. We took Managerial Accounting and Control  from 10:00am to 1:00pm and Marketing from 2:00pm-5:00pm.
We were given around 20 questions in Managerial Accounting and Control with straight problems and essay writing combined. It covers mostly CVP Analysis, ROI and RII and transfer pricing. At first look, the topics covered seemed to be few but you would need the theories from other chapters to defend your answer.
o answer the essay, we need to solve the problem first because that will be the basis of our opinion. I didn't have difficulty solving for the problems but the essays were the worst. Well, everybody's got their own weaknesses and essay writing happens to be mine. It took me more time to organize and finalize my thoughts than actually solving it.
I had a lot for lunch but I didn't appreciate how it tasted. It's like my plate was suddenly empty and I don't know where the food went.
In the afternoon, we had Marketing Management. Up until the exam, I was confident because I finished studying it. Before the exam was distributed, the proctor mentioned that there were only four questions. So I asked how many pages? I was hoping it was a company case analysis hence the number of questions, but NO. It was mostly identification and one very short case analysis that only focused on pricing model. I studied twenty-two chapters but the first question is not on the reference text and the other is close to becoming a footnote which I didn't bother memorizing. Yeah, that part I really regret.
We all felt hungry after the exam and decided to eat before going home. Me and my friends ended the day with pasta, coffee, cake and a lot of chatting and drama.
We still have two more subjects left to take this Saturday and I'm hoping I could do better to make up for my loss in Marketing. I'll update soon.

Affordable Filming Set Up Ideas for Youtube

7/20/2017

Hello my lovely readers. I have recently joined a 100 day blogging challenge on a facebook group I'm a member of. It was difficult to cope up at the moment since I have to work and prepare for the upcoming exam but I wanted to share two videos I found online.am but I wanted to share two videos I found online.
Part of the challenge is to do a vlog which, as of the moment, I'm not sure if I'm brave enough to do but I wanna try anyway. I make youtube videos for nail art but the set-up I have is so simple and I only use a lamp for lighting so when I tried filming a vlog, it didn't turn out good. Mostly because it was dark. I moved my table by the window for natural lighting but I typically work 12 hours a day so the sun will be gone by the time I get home to film.
I searched for filming set-ups but most of what came out where the glamorous and expensive ones by already popular youtubers. These two I came accross by chance and thought it deserve more views than it get so I'm writing this post to share them.

Health and Beauty          Cosmetics

The last time we visited Quiapo Church, we went to Wellmanson and that's were I found this paddle makeup brush set. I already took it out of the box since it's generic and most of the times Quiapo and Divisoria brushes have the similar quality anyway. The set includes five brushes, an egg shape sponge and a brush cleaner.

Where to buy: Wellmanson, Quiapo, Manila
Price: 320
I've been so curious about these paddle brushes since it first came out and it is easy to find at the mall but I cannot afford to pay a thousand or more for a single brush. Not even three hundred per piece for something that may be similar in quality with those from Quiapo or Divisoria.

Trip to Minor Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Manaoag

My mom has been a devotee of Our Lady of Manaoag since I was a child. I remember her going almost at least once a month with my aunt before especially when I got sick. My father, on other hand, is a devotee of the Black Nazarene of Quiapo. Basically, I have acquired strong faith on both although not like my parents. When I've done everything I could, I feel most comfortable and confident when I visit both the Black Nazarene of Quiapo, Manila and Our Lady of Manaoag in Pangasinan.
The trip took about 4 hours from Olongapo through SCTEx and TPLEx. We paid toll fees from Olongapo as follows (one way):
(SCTEx) Tipo Entrance: P22
From (SCTEx) Tipo to TPLEx Entrance: P294
To TPLEx Exit: P235

Money 101 | Getting a Reality Check

7/5/2017

I mentioned in my previous post how I encountered an article from an old magazine while cleaning my room. Well I'm an accountant. It's normal for me to compute automatically when I see numbers. That's what triggered me to get a reality check on my financial status. I hope this post would do the same to you.

On the same night, I sat in my room and stared at my bank book and mull over my finances and spending habits. Here's how you can too.

1. List all source of income and how much you earn from it.

Right now, I have a single source and that's my full time job which basically earns me the same every payday. Now if you're working several part time jobs that have varying income, get the average and don't over estimate.

I suggest getting the middle of your lowest income and most consintent highest income from that part time job.

The Office | Going to PRC and Quiapo

7/3/2017

The exam is near and I know I shouldn't be wasting my time but this is just as important. I had to submit all my credentials to PRC to get accredited as an accounting teacher.
It wasn't that difficult given that you already have all your credentials arranged. Signed forms, certified true copy of PRC certificate and college diploma, two copies of notarized sworn statement, copies of my certificates and receipt of payment as well
as my copy of grades and certification from school that I'm finishing my masters degree. I also brought my original certificates because they're checking the authenticity of the CPD units I've actually earned.
